Brick House Farm Solar Farm
Where is Brick House Farm Solar Farm going to be located?
The project is situated to the south-west of the hamlet of Greete, approximately 2.2km north-west of Burford and 3km southeast of Caynham. The site covers approximately 54 hectares of agricultural land (predominantly Grade 3B land which is not the best and most versatile for agriculture). Harpfields Farm is positioned to the south-east of the site. The western site boundary is defined by the route of Ledwyche Brook which joins Greet Brook along the southern boundary. An unnamed road is adjacent to the northern boundary in parts. The eastern boundary is defined by mature vegetation and an unnamed road.
About Brick House Farm Solar Farm
We are delighted to announce that the proposals for Brick House Farm Solar Farm received planning consent from Shropshire Council on October 18th 2022.
Construction on Brick House Farm Solar Farm has recently started. We will update this page with key information and construction updates as construction progresses.
The solar farm on land at Brick House Farm, Greete, Ludlow, Shropshire, SY8 3BZ will have an approximate capacity of 49.9 MW. The solar farm will create enough renewable energy to meet the annual electricity needs of approximately 15,000 homes. It will also offset approximately 11,200 tonnes of CO2 each year, the equivalent to taking around 5,160 cars off the road.

Indicative Timeline
Early works forming part of the main construction phase of the Brick House Solar Farm began in the w/c Monday, 13th October. These works included the formation of a small hardstanding area and access track to enable the contractor to establish welfare facilities and undertake limited site setup operations ahead of the main construction phase.
These initial works were required to prepare the site in readiness for the main construction phase of the project, which is due to start in the New Year.
This timeline will be updated periodically as the project develops.
